Highly Accurate CD Transport with Sampling Rate Converter

The NuPrime CDT-8 Pro is a highly accurate professional CD transport with powerful DSP-based decoder that provides all Red Book error-correction capabilities with master-clock control of the entire decoding system, thus lowering jitter significantly. The transport’s single speed minimizes vibration and unbalanced discs. A selectable sampling rate converter (SRC) up samples the CD format to higher sampling rate with ultra-low jitter and distortion.

Sampling Rate Converter

The sampling rate of CD playback can be up sampled to PCM and DSD, from 44.1kHz to 768kHz or DoP256
The conversion is achieved by up-sampling to mega hertz before down converting to the targeted sampling rate with ultra-low jitter and distortion

NuPrime CDT-8 Pro

After using it for a few weeks, the NuPrime CDT-8 Pro sounds good even with SRC turned off (16/44.1). With SRC on (24/192), without going into audiophile buzzwords, it sounds even better. SRC at DoP 64, makes the music sounds smoother, more natural/less digital!
Ergonomically, it’s a 4.5 stars. I wish there is a number pad on the remote, display could be dimmed/turn off, and the disc tray a little narrower and deeper so it’s easier to place and remove CD.
However since I value sound quality more, 5 stars.

CDT 8

It is a nice transport but does not match up well with my Denafrips dac . At least not through the i2s input . I will look for some AES cables and try that
